The playstyle of it is potentially quite fun, but with no reliable way to build charge unless you go for the still-OP Prismatic Bolt or mix elements, I have to recommend you do Fire instead. Arc Beam is also, as far as I can tell, the most mana-intensive skill in the game while also being very hard to aim with damage and range that's not impressive enough to warrant its obscene cost. Prismatic Bolt is the only thing that builds charge in the entire tree (and if you pick it, there's not much point going for anything else), Shockbolts is terrible and has a hard time hitting anything, and despite 4 out of 7 active skills in the tree calculating damage from weapon DPS, the only one that actually works properly with Staff Mastery is Shockbolts.
The Storm tree for Embermages is really lackluster right now. Id like to try Electric as well but have so much Ice gear right now.
I went with that since ive been playing an Engie who uses a lot of Fire moves. I was thinking about a straight up fire mage but ice sounds pretty nice.
